In order to promote respect and coexistence among the thousands of people who make up the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and in line with the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability reflected in its Sustainable Mobility Strategic Plan, the UPV would like to remind the community of some key points from the Reglamento de Circulación y Estacionamiento de la UPV [PDF], which apply to its campuses in Alcoy, Gandia, and Valencia:
1. UPV campuses are pedestrian-priority areas.
2. All vehicles circulating on campus must respect the pedestrian-priority principle and adapt their speed to walking pace.
3. On campus, motor vehicles and mopeds may only circulate on designated access and exit roads to parking areas at speeds not exceeding 10 km/h, and on circulation lanes at speeds not exceeding 30 km/h.
4. Bicycles and personal mobility vehicles, including electric-powered ones, are allowed to circulate on campus -excluding garden areas- without exceeding 10 km/h at any time and must maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from pedestrians and building façades. If this minimum distance cannot be maintained, users must dismount and walk alongside the vehicle.
5. Vehicles of any kind may only be parked in areas specifically designated for that purpose. Bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles have dedicated parking zones; parking them outside these areas or locking them to any campus furniture, unless specifically designated for that purpose, is strictly prohibited.
